BigmanPigman...i never knew what that particular DUer's name meant until today.
I posted this in the lounge earlier today, without much response. I was so impressed by this, that I've been singing it loudly all day with no regard for my own pride. This is not a new song, and it was not written for Trump, but this captures him flawlessly. This is beautifully intense, and it looks like this performance was during the campaign, right before the election. My apologies for posting this again, but I am just gobsmacked at how perfect this is. This is a permanent earworm. Roger Waters, Mexico City, playing to 300,000 fans. Video and lyrics follow. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.
Big man, pig man
Ha, ha, charade you are
You well heeled big wheel
Ha, ha, charade you are
And when your hand is on your heart
You're nearly a good laugh
Almost a joker
With your head down in the pig bin
Saying 'Keep on digging'
Pig stain on your fat chin
What do you hope to find
Down in the pig mine?
You're nearly a laugh
You're nearly a laugh
But you're really a cry
Bus stop rat bag
Ha, ha, charade you are
You fucked up old hag
Ha, ha, charade you are
You radiate cold shafts of broken glass
You're nearly a good laugh
Almost worth a quick grin
You like the feel of steel
You're hot stuff with a hatpin
And good fun with a hand gun
You're nearly a laugh
You're nearly a laugh
But you're really a cry
Hey you, Whitehouse
Ha, ha, charade you are
You house proud town mouse
Ha, ha, charade you are
You're trying to keep our feelings off the street
You're nearly a real treat
All tight lips and cold feet
And do you feel abused?
You got to stem the evil tide
And keep it all on the inside
Mary you're nearly a treat
Mary you're nearly a treat
But you're really a cry

(7,551 posts)I've always considered 'Animals' to be the bands' most thematically and stylistically complete album and a scathing picture of modern capitalism.

(51,675 posts)My dogs each grew up to that tape (yes, tape, not CD) in my car for years. I played it until I wore it out and then made another one. This was when you could still easily make your own tapes from albums. My dogs liked the dogs howling.

(17,984 posts)And I still remember when you would go to the music store to buy a tape, not vinyl or cd. When I was ten or eleven, I made my mom take me to the store and buy my Peter Tosh's Legalize It. She didn't bat an eye!

(51,675 posts)That wad my entertainment budget for the whole year (1 show a year these days) but it was definitely worth it. You know what I mean when I say you can't describe the overall sound, light, theater experience.

(7,349 posts)in Hyde Park, London. He was awesomely amazing! No disappointment! We didnt have tickets so just laid down on the grass just outside the concert fencing and enjoyed a free listen! Heard The Cure the next night the same way. The following day was Clapton, Winwood, Santana, Bramhall, Carrack, Clark Jr, etc....we paid to see that concert all afternoon and into the night. They were all wonderful that concert series!
