Note: 43% was post Nixon tapes revelation (link) and post Saturday night massacre (link) which Red Don has had none of those shocking events .... YET.45% of Americans want to impeach Trump

This all said ... I do think congress should go through what ever pre-process's it takes to make sure T's are crossed and I's are dotted but there's no longer a true and well ground political reason .... NOT ... to impeach Trump.
BONUS: Looks like some issues relating to Red Don's financials are going to be fast tracked

(25,525 posts)There's very little middle ground. People either want him gone - and have since day one - or love the guy. The split has been pretty stable his entire presidency.

(90,378 posts)... once he started telling congress to point sand his popularity numbers fell.
I wish I had the graph on popularity numbers for Nixon, he started out REALLY REALLY good.

It's just up to us to make sure they don't steal another election.

(15,720 posts)Impeachment is just as likely, if not more so, to fire up the Dem base, and demoralize Trump's possibly suppressing GOP vote in 2020, as some folks wake up to his bullshit and decide to sit this one out.
The higher voter turnout, the better chance we have of winning.

(25,525 posts)These are the same people who blew a gasket at "deplorables" and responded by getting out the vote. Impeachment wouldn't demoralize them; it would mobilize them.
His base is comprised of some of the most loyal groups of voters in the electorate. If nothing he's done so far has turned them, impeachment certainly won't.
Fiendish Thingy
(15,720 posts)The base was not energized in any significant way, just 66,000 votes flipped/suppressed in the Rust Belt.

(21,762 posts)If they get demoralized.
They reacted to "deplorables" as they did before he was elected. Now they are seeing what they really get. I just don't think there are enough rabid Trump fans to get him through again.

I don't need articles filed this week. That's fine.
But let's get started.
