Voting is a given, but I feel something needs to happen before then. As a retiree and full time caregiver for my spouse, my options are pretty limited. Im thinking a contribution to an organization might be the way to help, but which one.....
ACLU?
PPA?
Other?

(22,528 posts)one option is the Yellowhammer Fund. In Georgia, it's the Magnolia Fund. You can also give to the National Network of Abortion Funds, which provides leadership development, support, and organizing help to state member funds.

(51,501 posts)Donate to such groups as NARAL and Center for Reproductive Rights or PP. They file lawsuits.

(2,593 posts)the anti-abortion movements in those two states this past month have been unbelievably painful. Yesterdays extreme action in Alabama has elevated my concern and outrage to the point of despair.

PSA: Abortion is still legal in all 50 states.
Its true that states have passed laws trying to make abortion a crime, but we will sue in court to make sure none of those laws ever go into effect.

The last time Alabama threatened abortion rights, they lost and paid @ACLUAlabama and @PPFA $1.7 million.
We really don't want Alabama's money. Just keep abortion legal and we're good.

(2,947 posts)the US conceivably it could raise millions of dollars for that one PP and the amount would emphasize the backlash AL and every other state can expect.

(868 posts)clearly and without ambiguity, provides the answer for all.
We, are guaranteed the freedom of choice, as citizens, in all cases that does not deprive another citizen
the same consideration.
Yet, blatantly ignoring the separation clause, between state and religion, religion has reared its ugly head to inform
all citizens that their beliefs on the matter will be dictated by those who choose to violate the law of individual
rights.
As "we" are vociferous in fight against the rise of Sharia Law in our nation as "needed", Christianity, on the other hand, is
"provided" carte blanche in making the ultimate and supreme choice for all.
Who said America represented FREEDOM?
They are liars.....
