A slate of womens and civil rights groups are planning to hold nationwide protests next week against a series of bills being weighed by states that seek to restrict access to abortions.
Planned Parenthood, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), NARAL Pro-Choice America, the Womens March and other groups are working to organize the demonstrations Tuesday.
The protests at statehouses and courthouses across the country are aimed at condemning bills that the groups are calling an unconstitutional attempt to gut Roe and punish women.
Across the country, we are seeing a new wave of extreme bans on abortion, stripping away reproductive freedom and representing an all-out assault on abortion access," the groups said on the protests website.

(9,090 posts)protest so it hurts them. they're used to ignoring protests at state capitols because they have 1500 radio stations to yell over them for as long as it takes.
someone please figure out how to aim some protestors to the 88 + universities that have been endorsing anti choice propaganda at 260 limbaugh stations for 30 fucking years, by broadcasting sports on them just because they're loud and republicans like it.
this is really stupid. those radio stations will attack the protestors and mischaracterize the protests for as long as it takes to get back to 'normal', like with iraq protests, OWS, and the anti-trump protests - and reassure republicon politicians they don't have to worry.
protests directed at talk radio go right to the root of the problem. in these states doing this shit there are universities endorsing multiple limbaugh/trump/putin radio stations - and any discussion about looking for apolitical alternatives will scare off advertisers. the local GOP will freak out. without those unis most of those stations will have to change programming. GOP will freak out.
