A tornado warning is a very specific event, indicating that a tornado is on the ground or has been radar-indicated.

The weather index, in comparison, is on a 5/5 scale and indicates the likelihood of severe weather, not weather currently occurring, as in the case of a tornado warning.

I’d post the iPhone text message screenshot If I could. It reads:

OSU-STW - COWBOY ALERT - The NWS has issued a TORNADO WARNING for OSU-Stillwater. TAKE COVER NOW!!! TORNADO WARNING
