Breaking news right now on Lawrence O'Donnell, in response to McGhan's attorney's "get bent" letter.

(51,675 posts)that Congressional committees needed to move faster now. I sure hope she's right. This should really get the ball rolling.

If Nadler moves swiftly, it's game on. So far, the courts aren't siding with Trump. It could be the first flick of the dominoes, IF Nadler backs up what's in that letter with immediate action.
Such terrible news for Trump to come home to after his super-special MAGAt rally.
Now Lawrence is moving on to the money laundering allegations from Deutsche Bank.

Not that it excuses the GOP's willingness to protect Trump, but with Amash's recent statements, Crenshaw's on the alleged presidential pardons in the war crimes cases, and even Barr's whiny "defense" in the WSJ, it seems that the depth of disdain of the American people for the current Republican "leadership" is finally penetrating.
I lived through the Nixon Administration; the most significant lesson I took away from Watergate is that scandals are like avalanches; they start slow and small, but end up sweeping away everyone who stays in place.
As a better writer than I once put it:
Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There's a battle outside
And it is ragin'.
It'll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'.
