Even though I don't really like the statement "I just can't", I can't.
I don't know how to combat this shit.
This was on some asshole's facebook. I was drinking a bottle of water when I saw it, and I laughed...water came shooting out of my nose.
This picture had 12,000 likes, loves, and wows.
Examples of comments are as follows:

(33,643 posts)But I'm not at all surprised at what LC is saying about what followed, comment-wise.
We're dealing with the dumbest of the dumb, most gullible of the gullible ... Trump Cultists.

(23,002 posts)It was at an airport. If there were 1500 people there I'd be surprised. The camera doesn't pan to the crowd. Tight shots and we have to rely on crowd figures from the trump admin. The same admin that said.."Biggest inaugural in history."
Trumpers are deluding themselves.

(21,290 posts)And people drove for miles to see him.
They never show pictures of his crowds from the whole viewpoint. I suspect the crowds are photographed to look large when they are not well attended,

(17,479 posts)My point is that it is obvious to me that it was Woodstock, or something similar. I'm having trouble wrapping my head around the fact that 12,000 people think it is a Trump rally.

(905 posts)Back in the day, mid 80s, I would subscribe to both the Detroit Free Press (left wing) and the Detroit News (right wing propaganda). My mom would stop by and ask why I would pay money to the right wing rag. I told her I liked to scream every morning to get my day going.
FB: I love all the in laws in the family and we are all very close. It has come to my attention that certain in laws are leading double lives as assholes. Example: An in law, who married into an immigrant family, started making fun of accents and saying, "Learn English". I went nuclear Then I unfriended him. The next day was Christmas and he was all like I now have 9 people on my friends list which is an tiny portion of my family. I only log on when a great aunt texts me that she has posted pics of her trip to Yellowstone Park.
I get it.

(can't even tell you how many times I've heard that album, man, going back to 10th grade)
I love Gilmour's guitar outro in particular ... which he somewhat replicated on his 1978 solo album 'David Gilmour', at the end of the song 'Cry from the Street' ...
If by some totally weird chance you've never heard this, prepare to thank me, cause this song is badass ... but I bet you have ... maybe not for awhile though

(17,479 posts)the 4:20 mark...never heard this song before.

(33,643 posts)I have another treat for you my friend.
This is actually a cover but I've never heard the original, and I don't think I need to ...
Both Cry from the Street and this one ... are like lost Floyd classics ... the friggin chorus on this song is to die for, IMHO ... I am compelled to sing at the top of my lungs
Actual song starts around 50 seconds ...
You're welcome again

(6,279 posts)It's a hobby for some RW idiots to peddle obvious BS just to piss us off. They know it's bogus, they just get off on watching people get frustrated or upset. So the less one gets caught up in it the better - it denies them the fix of "owning/triggering the libs" that they are looking for
Maru Kitteh
(28,350 posts)Because it's a photo on FB "from Trump." They couldn't just post a fake photo on FB, the White House wouldn't allow it.
Seriously.

(6,535 posts)Don't let them get to you; and/or find some way to fuck with their heads (if possible; half the "conservative" voices you hear out in the wild of the interwebz these days are just Russian state influencers or bots anyway).
Here are a few fun ideas:
- assume whoever is posting stupid right-wing nonsense is a Russian bot
(and as a corollary, people seem to get upset when you call them a bot, I don't know why)
- look at the matter objectively: the MAGAt perspective on the world is so far removed from what we as a society generally agree is "reality" that there's really no sense in getting upset about anything they say or think. They are fucking hopeless; you might as well have a conversation with a box of rocks as try to have any kind of meaningful exchange of ideas with these morons.
- fuck with their heads! if possible, try to get them to agree to some basic tenet of communism (workers should enjoy the fruits of their labor, for instance) and end the conversation with some kind of "thanks comrade! I can see we're on the same page now!" sort of statement, so that it's clear that you've "won" the argument or whatever, and then just fuck off from the conversation, let them splutter and try to figure out what happened.
Meh...I'm still working on my approach here. If each of us can somehow get just one person to stop listening to Rush Limbaugh/Fox News, the world would be a much better place.
Lock him up.

(32,103 posts)That station wagon in the bottom right-hand corner is a dead giveaway that it IS Woodstock. When's the last time anyone saw a station wagon? It's been a couple of decades for me. It's not surprising that those suckers believe it's a Trump rally. They've allowed themselves to be conned by the World's biggest con man for all this time, and they'll believe anything that tries to make him look good.
