There's a drunk at the wheel of the car
But that wheel is a nuclear arsenal, the drunk is in total control, and the "car" is the world.
Don't Republicans realize they're riding in that car? Don't they realize that their families, themselves, and everyone they know are passengers? How can they not care?
This analogy only goes so far, but it's a pretty good parallel to today's reality.
For anyone who doesn't yet get it, Donald Trump shouldn't be driving. He shouldn't be in charge of anything at all, no less a nuclear arsenal.
Yet, we have a party that remains quiet, we have about a third of American voters who are happy he's at the wheel, and we have a Democratic Party with limited power to stop him.
Many people have always wondered just how fucked up this world was. Seems we underestimated the possibility that the lunatic fringe would end up with a president who embraced them.
The Republican Party has spent decades trying to implement their demented world view. But, my guess is that very few of them expected "a drunk at the wheel."
The Democrats, can impeach him, but only the Republicans can remove him. The survival of American democracy is on them. And if they don't remove him, then they must be removed. And that's assuming the next election comes to be. And assuming it's not stolen, ... again.
