I was on the Arkansas Corp of Engineerings flood map site. I was looking at Perryville, AR (the closest town to me).
I noticed a bright spot and then zoomed in to the second photo..

(57,768 posts)It looks like a general aviation plane flying over the terrain just as the picture was taken. What the "earth" thing is, I don't know.

(5,547 posts)The funny thing is that if you zoom into the image even more, it looks like there is an alien face in it.
If I had to guess, i would say it was a water droplet on the lens causing a prism effect.
Or aliens.

(5,547 posts)It would be a wild coincidence that a plane just happened to be right there with the flare. It is also strange that the plane appears to be very low and even seems to be painted green.
As for the trail, in my theory of the water droplet, I would assume that is the trail caused by it rolling down the lens. I could be totally full of shit but water droplets are the only thing I have ever seen have that kind of effect.

(4,316 posts)It seems to be an organic shape, similar to the shape of the tops of the trees. You can't tell if it is above or below the plane. The blob is separate from the stream which trails it, there is a gap. I made my own version of it, a negative. The plane seems very low.
