As set forth in our report, after that investigation, if we had confidence that the President clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said that.

Well see if Mueller saying today exactly what he said in his report 2 months earlier, helps Pelosi and Clyburn find the votes to initiate Impeachment.

(14,564 posts)Before then I hope something big will drop on trump making him completely unelectable. If he get's re-elected and we gain control of the senate, he will be gone just days after inauguration.
If he loses we might find enough votes from republicans to impeach in Nov. Which will keep him from taking his revenge for losing.
Either way, his campaign is strategy is centered on keeping him from being impeached. Holding off on it will throw is campaign off balance.

(8,200 posts)The wording seems like the work of a clever word smith. If I had my day, which I won't, I would ask Mueller just this: If Trump was not protected by this so-called policy, that by the way was not recognized by Starr in his investigation of Clinton and said that a sitting president could be indicted, would you have called for his indictment for obstruction. A simple yes or no response.
I am not in the least convinced that the Constitution in any manner provides for what I consider to be a self serving interpretation. In fact the Constitution clearly provides protection from indictment for sitting members of congress and is total silent in not providing the same protection for the president. It also states that a president could be held accountable after leaving office. I will admit that I am not an unquestioning fan of Mueller.
