To those suggesting Pelosi has no power & Senate can unilaterally hold trial without Articles...

I’ve heard some chatter that @senatemajldr McConnell could unilaterally begin an impeachment trial without waiting for @SpeakerPelosi to transmit the articles to the Senate. Not so.The standing Senate Rules preclude that option. Amending that rule would require a 2/3 majority.

without Pelosi delivering the articles, it would have already happened.

The days of McConnell honoring and respecting the constitution are long gone. We are going to have to fact check everything he says. Since denying President Obama’s Supreme Court nomination, he has decided that he alone can make up Senate rules to suit himself and his fearless leader. We must stop him.

I even bolded that section.

Amending that rule would require a 2/3 majority.

You believe the Dems would vote WITH the R"s to give them the numbers to reach 2/3???
