Pentagon officials say that nothing had changed with Iran before Trump and the White House launched an attack and then claimed an imminent threat.
The New York Times reported:
Still, officials offered scant details and only general explanations for why these reported threats were any different than the rocket attacks, roadside bombings and other assaults carried out by General Suleimanis Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps over the years. Size, scale and scope, General Milley said without elaboration.
National security experts and even other officials at the Pentagon said they were unaware of anything drastically new about Iranian behavior in recent weeks; General Suleimani has been accused of prodding Shiite militias into attacking Americans for more than a decade. - PoliticusUSA

(11,885 posts)And remember there was 4 or 5 top Pentagon official that have recently resigned. Was it because they refused to carry out what they thought was unlawful orders? It'll all be exposed. If Iran did decide to retaliate it might be where it hurts him the most , his properties around the world, or helping dig up dirt on him then leak it to the press. That has proven to stop him in his tracks when someone has damming information on him , he becomes compromised and like putin has done to him. made him his puppet.

(3,488 posts)shoot US citizens when he tells them too? Or when he calls an airstrike on The Washington Post?
Oh sure, there will be later expose`s (sorry don't know how to put the correct accent thing on with this keyboard) and maybe tribunals or something but people will be dead and institutions destroyed. You can always find creeps in every line of work who will do terrible things.
But you can't always undo what they've done.
