I don't know what is going on in FoxNews, but what I'm hearing from MSNBC is more

boldness in demanding proof of the imminent threat to American life. Which is to be expected because there is ample evidence to support that Trump has exhausted his trust leverage.

Gives me the feeling that Trump will grow aware that he has painted himself in a corner and I dread what will come next, since the assassination was supposed to give him breathing room and, instead, has ramped the attention on him.

Embassy's are pretty wide open to the public in most European Countries. SOS Clinton tried to get extra funding to Harden many of these facilities but McConnell would not allow it. So here we go,just what could go wrong.

38. SOF forces are at risk
Sun Jan 5, 2020, 05:37 PM
Jan 2020

there are many SOF bases around the world that would be a greater target of opportunity then most embassies.

Would suspect more attacks like what was just carried out in Kenya. yes I understand the attack was unrelated to the killing. But it demonstrates the vulnerability many of these outpost have.

further there are teams operating outside of these bases conducting "FID" (foreign internal defense) missions. think the Niger ambush.

in these places our SOF forces lack CAS and MEDEVAC capabilities like in the war zones where there is practically an unlimited supply of assets.

plus most embassies that are in high threat levels have been hardened post the spat of attaks in the 1990's.

Mr. Trump just placed a great deal of war fighters in great danger.

"At a time and place of their choosing, they're going to conduct a terrorist strike that kills a senior American official," Morell said. "And that could be anywhere in the world."

[snip]

According to Morell, the killing of Soleimani sets a dangerous precedent that senior officials are fair game in the "hybrid, not-yet-at-war kind of scenario that we're in with Iran."

The American people are not going to sit around and watch our military come home in boxes and not do something. That's how fast we will be drawn in, as if we already aren't. ISIS, for instance, brutally kills civilians just because they are Americans. So, they needn't attempt to calm us while they kill our sons and daughters. They are not our friends.

We're seeing a blitz of speculative and inaccurate stories on various media sources, mostly from hard core right-leaning sites. I don't think "Iran" itself has made such a statement.

Not finding that contention in any of the major main stream outlets I'm watching of any Iranian government official making such a proposal, although I did find this probable basis for it being spread at the Daily Mail UK site (a Murdoch rag):

(snip from front page article)

An organizer for a funeral procession for Soleimani called on all Iranians to donate $1 each 'in order to gather an $80million bounty on President Trump's head'. The organizer made the remarks during the procession in Mashad.

I can hardly stand to even visit that site because it's always filled with vitriol against Democrats, along with tons of entertainment industry gossip.

We have no control over MSM statements but maybe we can at least help quench any false innuendo being spread on DU....

By illegal I'm assuming he means lying to Congress. That's why I never hold the votes against any democrats. They are supposed to be able to rely on the information that comes out of the intelligence committee. They were lied to, courtesy of Dick Cheney.
