I've seen some kerfuffle on social media about a draft.
Also have seen replies here that it's not possible/probable...
So what's the protocol on this?
Doesn't Congress have to declare war first? (which will never happen)
Or, are all bets OFF since this Administration gives no shits about protocol and could just pass an executive order?
(...and while they are at it, declare martial law and suspend elections...?)

It does require Congress to pass legislation for a renewed draft, however, so be grateful Dems have the House. However unlikely that we would see a draft return, give the unpopularity, here are the facts:

The draft does not currently exist.
(So - declaring war would not - without a separate law - reinstate the draft)
