John Dean was interviewed by Don Lemon on Wednesday's (1/8) show and he said that there has been an examination of case law that will give Pelosi some options with the court if the Senate conducts a sham trial.
The article will appear in tomorrow's Washington Post. The author's name, and I don't know the spelling, is Robinall.
Dean says she can hold on to the articles through the election if she wants to. This will allow the Democrats to make the impeachment a campaign issue.

(58,785 posts)more than you can imagine. You don't even know what hand he prefers to screw the nation with.
But they know him and they know the incredibly complex system they all work within, and they know things like procedural corners they can back him into and legal constraints he must abide by, and they trust what they can do with those.

(13,929 posts)with out the house sending over the articles of impeachment? I mean it's common knowledge he is impeached so they change the rules, vote and acquit... I hope not but I don't trust that low life from kentucky...

Before him I never realized that the Majority Leader of the senate has veto power over virtually everything.

(16,132 posts)why when they are in the minority, Republicans can stop pretty much anything dead and when they are in the majority they have veto power over everything.
I guess it is that our side has ethics.
