Gee, last week was all about Pelosi caving and Trump winning, and even such perspicacious observers of the political scene like Chris Cillizza were saying that Pelosi got out-played and out-smarted. Of course, looking at what Pelosi actually said last week, a person could tell that she had given herself lots of wiggle room and plenty of outs if the Senate didn't get its act together.

But the media must have a narrative, and "Haw haw, ya dumb girl!" is a perennial favorite.

Had to be included, but that she did it with little comments of fanfare is smart. Let some GOP senators digest it before there’s talking points. Covering up murder for hire might be a bridge too for for several of them.
