Michael Bloomberg Is Open to Spending $1 Billion to Defeat Trump

Michael Bloomberg Is Open to Spending $1 Billion to Defeat Trump

The Democratic presidential candidate said he would spend big even if the nominee was someone he had sharp differences with, like Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren.

"SNIP.....

SAN MARCOS, Texas — Michael R. Bloomberg on Saturday did not rule out spending a billion dollars of his own money on the 2020 presidential race, even if he does not win the Democratic nomination, and said he would mobilize his well-financed political operation to help Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren win in November if either is the party nominee, despite their sharp policy differences.

Mr. Bloomberg’s plans would effectively create a shadow campaign operation for the general election, complete with hundreds of organizers in key battleground states and a robust digital operation, ready to be inherited by the party nominee — regardless of who that nominee may be.

Already, Mr. Bloomberg has spent more than $200 million on advertising, putting him on pace to spend by early March about the same as what President Barack Obama’s campaign spent on advertising over the course of the entire 2012 general election. If Mr. Bloomberg fails to win the nomination, future spending would be redirected toward attacking Mr. Trump.

“It depends whether the candidate needs help; if they’re doing very well, they need less. If they’re not, they’ll need more,” he said in an interview after a lunch stop at a barbecue restaurant during a campaign swing through Texas.

A $Billion Super PAC that bombards swing states with negative ads about Trump would be a game changer.

But above all, Dems need a well funded social media campaign that uses the same types of micro targeted ads they got Trump elected.

laughed at there. It was pretty openly done. So we knew. There was also a social network campaign to not like Nancy Pelosi just before the 2018 elections. Again it was obvious she was being targeted and some of us pointed out what a star she was as politicians go. Many people on the DU thought she should not be Speaker. Then Dems won. She became Speaker again. And she is amazing. It will happen again that people on the DU get fooled. And me. And it will happen all over. So we have to be ninja's and be prepared to duck and jump and spin and fight all these bullshit narratives. But i have to believe Democrats have a plan for that.

They targeted swing voters in swing states and they made ads specific to each voter, they made millions of different ads. It was highly effective and when Comey announced what he did a week before the election it drove it all home.

If he gave the max to every democrat running in the House and Senate, that would not come close to a billion. If can give only $2800 to the Democratic Party presidential nominee.
Looks like he will humiliate Trump by spending money that Trump doesn't have on ads against Trump. The worst thing that he can do to Trump is flatout say that Trump is not a billionaire like him, that would likely give the orange asshole a deadly coronary.

.....Trump has had more than three years to show himself..He is to most of us, an ugly, dirty, awful person..Far dirtier and uglier than anyone imagined. Many were willing to give him a chance and voted for him on that chance that Trump would become a better person when he won...
..... He has had his chance,& he lost it. It is over and he will lose in my opinion. You may not know it, but most of the people in the U.S.A. are embarrassed by Trump. We know it. Most of the world knows it, but Trump does not know it. Here is a person, Bloomberg, who is going to spend this money to defeat Trump. Why?
.... Bloomberg knows Trump and what he really is. Bloomberg wants him gone, as we do. Our country's future needs Trump gone to survive.
......No it will not be close, because Trump has shown himself to be what he always has been+++++ an awful, dirty, ugly, rotten, vicious, stupid, and absurd crook. Trump will lose as bad as McGovern lost in 72. We will all see what happens.
........ Who knows what evil lurks within the hearts of men?.... We all know. Don't we?

But the media keeps trying their damndest to convince us it is a neck and neck horse race, that half the country is ready to race to the polls and re-elect him. And the public doesn't seem to recognize that they are making money off the horse race.

If as many sit on their ass at home this time as in 2016, then add the voter purges, the voter repression, the gerrymandered districts and the stupidity of the voting public, it may be difficult to get the huge win needed to make it an unquestionable victory. And it needs to be such an unquestionable victory that he can't even begin to call it "rigged".

I have lost my faith in the American public. I'm afraid more people care about the super bowl than the election.

Then I read a hopeful outlook like yours, and I get hopeful again.

I am suffering from major whiplash...

What that really means is there will be .....unlimited money for the Democratic candidate

UNLIMITED,
UNLIMITED,
UNLIMITED,
UNLIMITED,
UNLIMITED.........enough for whatever happens...whenever it happens, however it happens......

As anyone knows, money is what makes politics work or not work. This means, we will have a great deal more than we ever imagined. And, that money will not be a problem for us. You see, here is the truth.............and it is the total truth as to why this is happening.................

Blumberg hates Trump as much as we do.
