Let us remind gentle readers that the NYT broke the Whitewater scandal, something which also had no "there" there.

And then there's the way Cheney fed them info as a "highly placed source", just so he could quote the paper's reporting to bolster the Bush administration's false claims about Iraq.

Thanks for the reminder of that self fulfilling circular activity.

Wasn’t that somewhat similar to how they outed Valerie Plame? I don’t recall exactly but at least in those days Cheney told the media what to say. Now the media (Hannity, Limbaugh, et al) tell Trump what to say and do.

That's what they've been all about since then (if not earlier): GOPee propaganda wrapped in a "liberal" reputation.

Now I no longer consider them a legitimate news source. They have betrayed their base of readers by trying to suck up to the right and they have failed as a journalistic entity. The right doesn't trust them (and won't read them) and the left feels betrayed by them (and will drop them). Incredibly stupid management.

as transcribed by traitorous journo Judith Miller back in 2002-2003 was significant for justifying the built-entirely-on-known-lies IRAQ Invasion. I'm esp. disappointed in Rumsfeld. He said it would be over within six months. He was off by seventeen years and counting.

If any of us were this bad at our jobs our employers would drag us behind the building and execute us by firing squad.

Should have done it much earlier. The yellow slant was vivid during the wars in Iraq.
