An airline employee took a woman's number from her bag tag, then harassed her via text, lawsuit says

The text messages were complimentary at first. Then, a little strange. And then, chilling.

Ashley Barno was in a boarding area at San Diego International Airport, awaiting a Chicago-bound flight, when a message from an unfamiliar number flashed across her iPhone screen, saying hello and asking how she was doing.

The person then added, “Btw I must tell you that you are gorgeous!”

Barno thanked the sender for his flattery and asked again for his name. How had he gotten her number, she asked, and why was he texting her?

address on bags. I still put my former work institution's address and phone number.

A colleague used to wear her ID everywhere until one day she was at a traffic light and almost got rob when one of the windshield wiper guys called her by name and nearly got her handbag - he had disarmed her for a minute. Then she realized her name was on her ID. Now she takes it off as soon as she's leaving campus.

a name ID tag off site, if do have a name its never more than my first name and I use the full version of it. If anybody uses it, I know its either my mom or someone I do not know.

Makes it easier to filter out spam phone calls, too.

Its a shame, being forthright was neighborly in the old days, now it marks you for easy pickings.

He'd get the number off of the checks (This was back in the late 80s or so) from women who bought something from the store and then call them, asking them out.

I told him how creepy that was, but he ignored me.
