signing ceremony , right now. It is a part of history but does it take away from the solem tone? Nancy usually doesn't make a false step.

(14,912 posts)Trump famously signs his bills with one cheap sharpie, putting it back in his pocket. He doesnn't give anything away for free.
That is likely sticking in his craw. He never liked it when obama did it.

(15,292 posts)All chatter and little recognition of the solemnity of the occassion. It was Garrett Haake and Manu Raju breathlessly reporting about a procedural "hiccup" that the Senate wouldn't accept the actual articles until tomorrow when the entire impeachment process steps are very formal and prescribed. That was obvious as soon as the scene shifted to the Senate and kicked off with a completely scripted process.

Right there on the pens senators used to sign the oath of impeachment was a mistake, two letters transposed back at the plant in Janesville, Wis. Instead of "United States Senator," the Parker Vector roller ballpoint pens read "Untied States Senator." Was this a joke, an honest mistake, a plea?
