He also was requesting that the Leader of Ukraine go on TV and start a slanderous rumor about his political opponent.
If that is not a high crime or misdemeanor, then neither is perjury.

(11,585 posts)Even with his straight face, one can tell Ari thinks Dershowitz is full of hot air. One minute hes blathering hes a liberal Democrat the next hes a Libertarian. Dershowitz is so busy being brilliant, he cant keep his stories straight (and probably worried Ari will ask him about Epstein).

But abusing official powers for personal gain is *exactly* what the framers has in mind as an impeachable offense.
