(6,448 posts)Reminds me of FOX showing the "mob" rioting in Madison because of Scott Wanker. Unfortunately, the streets were lined with palm trees. Think--Madison, Wisconsin--in February. The unrest they showed was after Rodney King in LA.

(22,976 posts)Then yes, youre correct, the Archives censored the display image only. But as you suggest, its a bad look for THE nonpartisan government entity (thats dedicated to preserving factual history) to alter any images associated with their exhibits, or for any other reason.

I think they need to do more (such as explain why they made their initial decision to blur Trump's name and articulate steps they have taken to ensure it does not happen in the future.

Also, what controversy is caused by an accurately shown photo?
