Senate Democrats should file a motion with Judge Roberts to have GOP senators dismissed,

In criminal and civil trials if any juror would have been found to made any public statements (even before being sworn in) that he would never look evidence, never vote for conviction, that juror would be immediately disqualified and dismissed. I hope the Senate democrats have Judge Roberts disqualify any and all GOP Senators who have stated they will not look at evidence, call witness or vote for conviction. starting with McConnel and Graham. They should be barred and others from all the trial proceedings from this point forward.

Schumer needs to do all he can at this point

regardless, it would fall to a majority vote and would not pass.

Makes no sense to allow those who have come out and stated their opinions to sit in judgment.

NRA known/proven to have been infiltrated by Russian influence and money (Mariia Butina).

Supreme court justices appointed by Trump should recuse as well.

It would be met by motions to disqualify various Democrats as well, such as Sen. Blumenthal, who wouldn't be allowed on a jury trying someone accused of bribery after he wrote an op-ed like this about the case.https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/yes-trump-is-guilty-of-bribery/2019/12/03/8468424e-15f9-11ea-a659-7d69641c6ff7_story.html

My point isn't that Blumenthal did anything wrong. It's that the oath is a fig leaf that would only be relevant if, for example, it could be proven (and it would be all but impossible to do so) that a Senator didn't exercise his or her own judgment (which might well be biased) but voted because he or she was paid specifically and for the sole purpose of getting him or her to vote a particular way.

Try to keep them from voting on removal, though, would be met by equally valid arguments that Democratic Senators are also biased.

This is not a criminal trial. The typical rules for jurors do not apply. They did not apply in the Clinton impeachment trial, either.

Political biases are not only tolerated in Congress, they are endemic to Congress. If everyone with a bias for or against Trump had to recuse themselves, there would be no trial at all, because there would be no jurors.

The biases will continue. No motion will change that.

that I heard Rep. Val Demmings has called fro Mcturtle to recuse himself. I'm sure that will be something more than one House Manager might take up as well as some Senators.
