I don't follow baseball much anymore. Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa finally turned what was once a rabid fan into a "when does college football start?" fan.
So I haven't followed this recent kerfuffle very closely, but it seems the Astros, like many business people, figured out a way to do what everybody does a little better - they got an edge and it helped them. That is what an edge should do.
As for Pete - I always thought it strange that the guy with the most hits can't even get a mention in their hall of fame and is banned.
Then there is Mark McGwire. Like the Astros he did something to get an edge. His team(s) never sat him or banned him. Still in the game I hear.
Knew a guy who pitched at the AAA level in the late 90s early 2000s. Everybody was "juicing" as he called it.
I came to the conclusion that baseball should allow drugs and cheating, they just have to reveal it before each game:
"Bob's doing greenies today with the curve baller on the mound. Coach Ray is stealing signs from center field today."
