Graham calls for swift end to impeachment trial, warns Dems against calling witnesses

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., announced that his initial plan of a pre-trial dismissal of the impeachment case against President Trump is now unlikely to happen, but he is pushing for the trial to begin and end as quickly as possible.

The Senate trial is set to begin Tuesday. Graham had previously floated the idea that the GOP majority could immediately vote to dismiss the case before hearing any arguments, but now he states that this does not appear to be a possibility given the lack of sufficient Republican support for such action.

“Yeah that’s dead for practical purposes,” Graham told “Fox News Sunday,” explaining, “the idea of dismissing the case early on is not going to happen; we don’t have the votes for that.”

Graham remains confident that Republicans are still united enough to acquit Trump at the conclusion of the trial. How long the trial goes is still up in the air. Graham would neither confirm nor deny reports that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell plans on keeping the Senate in session for 12 hours a day so that House Democrats would be done presenting their arguments Wednesday.

Majority of Americans want a fair trial and that includes witnesses and evidence.

Shove it.

can't be good for anybody outside of the cult. And frankly, it puts the cult in a difficult position trying to justify the fear.

said their obviously biased diatribe on rump's innocence, w/o hearing any evidence what-so-ever. None. Both of them have forever lost the right to be a speaker of any note, in Congress or anywhere else for that matter, being that they grossly distorted the impeachment process to suit their own needs, and not protect the country when it needs it so badly. RICO them out all out of office. Grossly unfair, party only, and unfit to govern effectively and fairly.

If they are so worried about presenting or allowing evidence to be presented, why not present evidence to the contrary, proving rump's innocence? This is, after all, what a trial is all about, eh?

Why are they so afraid to present anything? Is it because there isn't anything to present, that would clear rump of all charges? Seems like it. Cowards.

why he would announce his strategy. Anyway, why is he in charge again?

I would take the chance and let them call the Bidens. If everyone thinks Bolton has info that can get Trump, I'd take the chance. I wouldn't let those rat weasels intimidate my side.

I'd call some witness with info about the
Russian hacking of Burisma, to show how you can't trust any dirt the Repubs try to show. Not sure how the Bidens hold up, but they seem to have good credentials, and nothing is known about what is going on there. I'd lawyer them up for assistance. GOP sure seems afraid. I think it's all bluff.

All this crap just lets Warren inch closer--or awards Biden with the nom. I'm voting Blue no matter who gets it.
