Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI put out some dry cat food for a stray that hangs around in the winter.
Blue Jays and Red Birds have found it.
They are having a party.
They are so colorful against the backdrop of the colors of winter.

(86,868 posts)Yesterday I went out to the river along some bluffs and I saw a pair of golden eagles playing in the rotors (upthrust winds that result when a lateral wind hits a steep incline that shoots straight up). Then I saw a four yo bald eagle and a large hawk, not a red tail, playing a little further along the bluff. The hawk and eagle pair was unusual, most often than not a pair of those two species would be fighting rather than playing together. They were vocalizing with each other the whole time.
It was really cool to watch.

(13,110 posts)The Blue Jays outnumber the Red Birds.
The Blue Jays look like they are playing leap frog.
They cheat, they have wings and can really leap.
