(14,891 posts)Did you pass him?
If so (and most professors must have or he wouldn't have graduated), why?
You aren't much of a professor if you pass the dumbest student you ever had. Just saying.

(2,698 posts)Old man Drumpf would have sued, and litigation would have put a freeze on the guy's career, possibly for years. Besides, stupid as Trump is, the prof. probably assumed that he was going to nestle in obscurity in one of daddy's businesses.
It may not have been correct to pass a "fuckin' moron" (to quote Rex Tillerson), but it might have been disastrous (for this professor) had he failed him. Maybe not disastrous, but more trouble than it seemed worth at the time.

(14,891 posts)either he failed him, someone else changed the grade or he passed him. It may not have been a p/f course. Those weren't common at ivy league schools back then.

(14,891 posts)A school will always confirm a record of graduation if asked. It's the records behind that they won't disclose.
How he managed it? Who knows. It could have been a vote from the board to confir a degree based on extenuating circumstances, but we will never know.

(14,594 posts)be THAT ignorant."
But remember the movie they did on John McCain's 2008 campaign against Obama?
Remember when Steve Schmidt was talking to the consultants they were bringing in to get Sarah Palin up to speed on foreign policy? Palin thought England was ruled by the queen, remember. She was woefully ignorant - a fine example of a future Trump supporter.
Well, the consultant asked Steve if they should begin with some of the nuances around the wars in Iraq or something, and then the scene changed.
Sarah was sitting at a table, surrounded by consultants. They had a map of Europe up, and the first like of dialog was, "THIS is Germany!"
Remember she thought Africa was a country.
If she can be that ill informed, that poorly read, then surely a president who hasn't read an actual book in decades can be as well.

(1,402 posts)I'll bet DJT has never ever in his life read a book!! I think he hates reading and can't comprehend what is written!!
we know that he read the second book by Hitler, which he kept on his nightstand. We know because his first wife told us so, and the guy who gave him the gift book confirmed it.

(14,594 posts)Hitler used, so they say. And I've seen some pictures that have Trump making these identical gestures.
But to my knowledge, Hitler only wrote the one book, Mein Kampf.

(1,402 posts)Oh......wouldn't that be so fun? We all know he is a moron - the only thing he really excels at is using people for his own benefit, pleasure and greed. Of course, you know if there were great grades he would be shouting it from the rooftops!!!

We will never recognize this country again if he stays on.

CaptYossarian
(6,448 posts)doesn't listen ("Many people are saying..." are the voices in his head), is too lazy to study, and isn't curious because he knows it all already. Like his college experience, his presidency consists of flying by the seat of his pants. A narcissist is always right, won't admit otherwise, and will never apologize.
If he had held any lesser office before this, like alderman or school board member, he still would have been in over his head.

(18,770 posts)Mystery #2: Did one of his Wharton professors repeatedly tell friends and associates that Donald Trump was the dumbest goddamn student I ever had?
Its rare for a professor to disparage the intelligence of a student, but according to attorney Frank DiPrima, who was close friends with professor William T. Kelley for 47 years, the prof made an exception for Donald Trump, at least in private. He must have told me that 100 times over the course of 30 years, says DiPrima, who has been practicing law since 1963 and has served as in-house counsel for entities including the Federal Trade Commission and Playboy Enterprises. I remember the inflection of his voice when he said it: Donald Trump was the dumbest goddamn student I ever had! He would say that [Trump] came to Wharton thinking he already knew everything, that he was arrogant and he wasnt there to learn. Kelley, who passed away in 2011 at age 94, taught marketing at Wharton for 31 years, retiring in 1982.
The late William T. Kelley, who taught Trump at the University of Pennsylvania, said, Donald Trump was the dumbest goddamn student I ever had. Tony Schwartz, the ghostwriter of The Art of the Deal, says Trump had a stunning level of superficial knowledge and plain ignorance.

(6,217 posts).... tRump dispatched Cohen to every school he ever attended to deliver a threat that if they revealed his grades to anyone he would take them to court.
To quote Cohen:
When I say conman, Im talking about a man who declares himself brilliant but directed me to threaten his high school, his colleges, and the College Board to never release his grades or SAT scores, .
WHY do that is you are a "stable genius"?
You would do that if you were lying con man who planned on lying and bullying your way through life.
