Talking about the "brilliant" Donnie Shit for Brains "legal strategy".
Seriously, please don't question me when I say the current "news" media needs to be destroyed when the blue wave comes... including some of these fucksticks going to federal prison.

(14,907 posts)He was basically claiming that dersh successfully changed the narrative over the weekend and the knuckle-draggers bought it. He said it was now a case of "if it wasn't illegal, it isn't impeachable".

Why should I care about the destruction of democracy? If I can't see it, it must not be happening.

(3,922 posts)The American people don't give a shit about this and would rather watch garbage on their TV's than this.
I didn't like hearing Matthews rant either, but it's true: people will casually hear Dershowitz's ridiculous caveat and turn the channel with the impression that he's a legal expert and what he says is a fact.
Case in point: When the Mueller investigation report was released, an acquaintance of ours - who is totally and blissfully ignorant to the real news and presumably supports the fascists - told us that, with pride in being "informed", that she purchased the report to read, as we suggested she do. But she purchased Derschowitz's summary of the report, because, as she said, he's a "constitutional scholar"!
Those of us who have actively resisted this horror since it's inception, and those of us on this site, are not the masses unfortunately. The masses, asses that they are, are watching nonsense on TV and taking sound bites from idiots like Dershowitz, who's an idiots' idea of a "scholar", as all they need to know.
Like it or not, that's where we are in this country now and that's why we're in the mess we're in.

(2,010 posts)But I think Matthews overestimates how many people even hear what Dershowitz says. The Trump Team has been trying to make that argument since this all began and it has gotten them nowhere. So they sent out Dersh again to say the same thing - so what? The argument is laughable and only a small number of people watch those Sunday shows to begin with. If you aren't watching Fox, the "Dersh argument" wont be presented to you as anything other than a joke. That's why Matthews shouldn't be addressing it in any other manner - a joke.

(15,367 posts)to make it clear that this is more important than someone catching whipped cream in their mouth.
Seriously, he actually used that example! That more people care about some morning host catching whipped cream in their mouth than the ongoing, systematic destruction of our democracy and the rule of law.
Now, some would argue that yes, people do care more about that.
Others would argue that people care more about that because our media fucking sucks and encourages them to care more about that

If this were North Korea, Russia or Infowars these comments wouldnt surprise me. Seeing them here reminds me how tenuous our nations understanding of and dedication to individual liberty is.
