McConnell's fake move to compare Clinton impeachment to Trump impeachment.

They are nothing alike.

Clinton was convicted for lying about sex to protect his marriage.

Trump is charged with attempting to bribe a foreign leader to manufacture an investigation against his possible opponent in the next election. He then withheld the military aid that was needed to confront an enemy that is occupying a large part of their country. He refused to give them any legitimacy, that they direly needed. There would be no trip to the White House if the new president of Ukraine did not go on television and announce an investigation against the Bidens.

The two impeachments are nothing alike. McConnell is trying to pull the wool over people's eyes by trying to sell that argument.

Just a small point that needs to be made.

"thou shalt not bear false witness". Yet Republicans support people who align themselves with the "7 deadly sins".

They think Clinton got away with it and so their guy should get away with it too. A tit for a tat.

They don't see the clear and obvious difference between using your office for personal gain (trying to win an elections) and lying in a private deposition about a private affair. Clinton's sex life was not an abuse of power nor did he use his office to cover up the affair. Trump not only got caught using his office and our funding for personal gain, but then abused power to cover it up (as Nixon did).

GOP voters don't see the clear and constant abuse of power by Trump. They appear blind to the obvious. It's probably going to let the senate let him pass on this. But its historically going to link McConnell as a corrupt and horrible person. But he probably cemented that legacy already anyway.
