Until the evidence is brought up at the end.
Maybe that will change Republicans' final vote on the both articles.

(129,737 posts)Although I don't know who all the Impeachment Managers were for the judicial impeachments, so there may not have been any women in that role either because it is only recently that women have been elected in Congress in the numbers that they are there now.

(21,681 posts)SENATE COVERUP!!
I am listening to NPR in order to do necessary things while following the 'trial' .
Early on, an NPR commentator engaged in blatant, shameless bothsideism. When Pubs claimed that the trial is set up the same as Clinton's and Dems pointed out the glaring differences, the NPR commentator ssid, during a break, that both claims were correct and then cited similarities while glossing over differences.
NPR also annoyingly cuts into speakers with 2 and sometimes 3 back to back announcements on the hour identifying all their local affiliates, who is speaking at the moment, which party they are with, and the 'news' that "You are listening to the US Senate impeachment trial of President Donald J. Trump."
By the time they finish, I have missed big chunks of the speaker's comments or arguments.

(129,737 posts)You might be able to try CSPAN Radio (app or from their weblink - https://www.c-span.org/networks/standalone/?autoplay)
I don't think that the radio version requires you have a cable/sat provider subscription to use like their video streams (when done directly from the CSPAN website). None of the talking heads except during recesses or breaks.

What they havent yet felt are the repercussions of their dysfunctional dogma. Theyre bleeding the country of value - moral and monetary. It should catchup with them, and could occur before the election. It didnt just start with tRump. Were already paying for republican policies from past decades. They deserve to go down for their corruption and siphoning off of the futures of the younger generations.

(15,290 posts)else going on behind the scenes. Maybe there's a deal(s) that the "mushy middle" Rs will vote with McConnell now in return for being able to vote for docs and witnesses later? Because this is not a good look for the Rs.

(4,986 posts)So when kupperman sued to avoid complying with the subpoena, the Intelligence Committee assumed Bolton would do the same when he threatened just that.
Since then, the kupperman lawsuit wound up in dismissal at the end of December, and interest in Bolton has been renewed as a result.
(More generally, he should testify because its the right thing to do.)

HOWEVER, the Democrats ARE getting info out to the public again - and to the Senators, many of whom (including on our side) haven't had chance to really delve into the case evidence outside of what their aides may have summarized for them or what they read or heard in the news.

By getting actual evidence in, they are not simply making dry arguments for inclusion of witnesses and documents. They are exposing Republican obstruction and whitewashing for all the world to see.

(2,343 posts)With the Clinton impeachment, it was a huge deal. I remember lots of watercooler talk at the office about it. No one was talking about this one today. It doesnt seem like as big of a deal.
Impeachment is a major historical event. I'm so far not feeling it with this one. Is it because the outcome is supposedly deter, ined? I dont know.

Then turned to the hundreds of millions withheld from Ukraine. Said that we know theres more to the story. That we know this, because the pResident had to turn to the OMB to find a way to further hold up the funds.
He mentioned how many in the senate chamber voted for funding to Ukraine. (I didnt catch the number, but I liked that he referenced their votes.)
