‘Jury tampering’: Internet explodes after WH threatens that senators’ heads ‘will be on a pike’ if they vote to convict

https://www.rawstory.com/2020/01/jury-tampering-internet-explodes-after-wh-threatens-senators-their-heads-will-be-on-a-pike-if-they-vote-to-convict/?utm_source=&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=3574&recip_id=31440&list_id=1

The news was so shocking some thought it was fake. But as CBS News reports, the White House is threatening Republican Senators to not vote to convict President Donald Trump in his impeachment trial, or else.

That “or else” was revealed by CBS News’ Chief Congressional Correspondent Nancy Cordes, who reports, “One Trump confidant tells CBS News that GOP senators have been warned: ‘Vote against the president and your head will be on a pike.'”

Trying to intimidate a jury is obstruction of justice. I completely agree with you and the House should be preparing another article if this story is confirmed.

remove him. What can rump do afterwards once he's removed? Threatening Congress and/or the Senators would not be allowed in a normal court of law, and the judge would upbraid the defendant and their attorney(s) for doing so.

Will Justice Roberts do this (upbraid the defense?). Probably not. He'll act like nothing will have happened.

Just wait until down the road something else will happen and rump threatens the senators again on something else. It will happen and thus, rump has indirectly seized control of the 53 republican senators in Congress, one of the tiers upholding our constitutional pillars of government.

And where are the conservatives (the so called strict constitutional constructionists), in all of this mess? What are they saying? Probably nothing. Not one word against this blatant threat by rump. Perhaps maybe rump has finally pushed the limits of what he said too far, and thus pissed off these 53 senators. Wouldn't it be nice that they all finally voted for impeachment, based solely on rump's ignorant threat. Perhaps it's time that the Congress does what it is supposed to be doing (the republican ones)?

When he is removed and barred from holding any future office, his finances will collapse because Putin will stop supporting him as he will no longer be useful. His secret deals with Saudi Arabia will likewise collapse because the Trump name will be meaningless to any future customers of a luxury development. His properties are already losing money. I suppose some billionaires might back him to start a hate news channel, but why should they with his record of bankruptcies and poor business management, plus his habit of sucking investors’ money out of a business to fund his lavish lifestyle.

Republicans would still be in control of the WH and the Senate. Trump supporters will never vote for a Democrat, though some might stay home in November. But his white evangelicals will transfer their votes to Pence, who will support their fanaticism even more than Trump does. People like Cory Gardner and Joni Ernst would likely win reelection because Trump is not popular in their states. Mainers might even return Collins to the Senate. I think Republicans actually have very little to lose, but then I’m not a political analyst!

Their base would be mad but would these Senators really lose anything more than if they continue to cow to Trump and degrade themselves and the country? Trump's corruption cannot stand FFS.

After the rePuticans vote to acquit, this WH will be empowered to take it to the next level.

When does this nightmare end?
