(118,379 posts)... When his grandmother Antonia gave him some advice, he was not satisfied merely to listen but replied: "Remember that I have the right to do anything to anybody" ... At one of his more sumptuous banquets he suddenly burst into a fit of laughter, and when the consuls, who were reclining next him, politely inquired at what he was laughing, he replied; "What do you suppose, except that at a single nod of mine both of you could have your throats cut on the spot?" ... Whenever he kissed the neck of his wife or sweetheart, he would say: "Off comes this beautiful head whenever I give the word" ...

It portrays trump and the GOP to a tee. Gross indulgence. Excesses, greed, murder to amuse oneself and pure evil..

(36,307 posts)IIRC Bob Guccione (Penthouse publisher) was exec. producer, provided a huge budget, and wanted it be all sexed up with beautiful women, including Penthouse "Pets", but the director wanted avant-garde grotesquery. Guccione fired him and (with no directorial experience, AFAIK) finished directing the film himself. The reviews were what you might call "mixed".
