(14,599 posts)Kind of a funny tweet, though.
On a serious note, if that thing fell off a cliff and rolled into your car, you'd be taking a little detour off the cliff.

(7,517 posts)we drove up Rt 128 up the Colorado River towards the Fisher Towers near Moab UT. We did some hiking, then went back to Moab. We came across a boulder on the road the size of a VW. There was still dust wafting about.

(23,363 posts)At least the roads are bad So that people will be driving slowly. It could be a bad situation if somebody came flying around the corner and that Boulder was sitting there! In my opinion, thats a big boulder Not small.

San Miguel Sheriff
@SheriffAlert
The boulder that fell onto Highway 145 at Silverpick Rd outside Telluride was approximately 4ftx4ftx4ft (64 cubic ft) and weighed about 10,000lbs. No injuries or vehicle damage. Eastbound lane blocked for about 30 mins until a snow plow was able to move the boulder off highway.

(50,567 posts)The sheriff sent a patrol car to investigate and later sent a snowplow to shove the rock off the highway.
More appropriate to send heavy equipment to the scene to deal with the problem. You know you're going to end up shoving the rock off the highway eventually. Why not start there?

(23,375 posts)... until run into it, or have to go around it, then it's large.
Like having a small pebble in your shoe.
