Why is the only witness being considered a known RepubLIEcon

warmonger who, in 2017, earned $569,000 from Fox News?

The whole situation is too convenient—like Dean “scream” convenient; or the 50/50 election results convenient. Events repeatedly favoring one of two parties that defy statistical odds. Why? Because Bolton’s literally selling his possible testimony publicly speaking out now that the trial is in the Senate. Is Bolton offering a convenient chance for Republicans to appear to save face by allowing one of their own to testify? The media is certainly pushing Bolton’s case.

We seem to savor every morsel the RepubLIEclowns 🤡 throw out. A Fox host actually tells the truth one out of 365 days? Yes!!!

I think we should take a step back and ask: IF Bolton’s testimony is admitted will other key witness testimony be allowed (witnesses that WE want not ones served up to us.)

Sincerely,

The Devil’s Advocate

... to deal with some snakes.

But I don’t disagree with you. I don’t trust Bolton either. He may dislike trump, but he likes himself more.

it should be hardly surprising that many of the witnesses are criminals.

Bolton could hose us...by telling partial truths or down playing actual truths. I’m not putting a lot of stock in him my any means. He is, above all else, a self serving repuke.

I am leery, is my point, of people who have bullied, bulldozed and bamboozled us to this brink. I believe that things might not be so bad if we had been less willing to compromise with people who have zero integrity.

I’m hoping for the best but bracing for anything—-fool me once...

It's the one they know has the goods. They also want Barr, Pompeo and others. But if it comes down to just one they can get, Bolton has already documented the evidence against Trump in his book, so he can't very well testify otherwise.

The key advantage to this trial isn't to remove Trump; that is unlikely to happen. It is to make it as painful and humiliating for Republicans as possible. And Bolton is a good tool in that attempt; he is harder for them to dismiss as irrelevant or biased. If they let him talk, what he says is likely to be damaging to the President. If they prevent him from talking they look like cowards.

much sense to me, except..if the Republicans will allow one of their own to testify, maybe that would open the door to others?

When asked about Bolton’s credibility or lack thereof I believe it was Nadler who said you call any witness who is RELEVANT—period.

Basically it’s up to the lawyers to do their jobs with the witnesses made available—if they’re made available in this case.

noise is very useful to us in itself. However, media noise is absolutely no reason to think our managers have only been considering one person in strategy sessions. That would be bizarrely incompetent, and they're far from incompetent.

As for paranoia over Bolton's Republican identity, whatever. Of course witnesses from Trump's inner circle are going to be particularly valuable, and of course they would be conservatives. It's not some weird conspiracy.
