Note to TV talking heads: STFU about a stupid deal for witnesses...

Not only should there never be a deal about witnesses for the impeachment trial, there is no necessity for a deal.

All it takes is 51 votes to authorize the subpoena to call a witness. The Repubs don't need Dem help to call the Bidens. If they want to, they can. If they call the Bidens and not Bolton and/or Mulvaney we'll all know that the fix is in. They're still hoping to pull off the acquittal without any witnesses and not look like the partisan assholes that they are.

Schumer knows this, so the only thing asking him or others about a "witness deal" is just bullshit diversion that does nothing but help the Repubs. There is no reason to make McConnell look stronger by saying he has some kind of leverage to get the Bidens on trial, leverage he doesn't need if his sycophantic Repub Senators stay in line.

as I don't waste my time with the infotainment Cable Noise Networks. If I want to watch the impeachment C-Span and PBS are readily available.

It's legitimate and potentially important reporting that should inform us as to what's actually happening with the Republican Senators. I want to know that.

BTW, reporting what is actually said or done by the people involved is not the same as advocating. It is a statement of fact.
