(Bloomberg) -- President Donald Trumps lawyers begin their final day of arguments Tuesday having only barely noted the bombshell revelation from former National Security Adviser John Bolton that threatens to upset White House plans for a quick end to the Senate impeachment trial.
Trumps defense team is expected to speak for about two more hours as they wrap up their case, an administration official said, speaking on condition of anonymity. That will be followed by hours of questions from senators, set to begin Wednesday.
Then will come what promises to be a dramatic debate and a moment of reckoning for a handful of Republican moderates over whether to call Bolton or other witnesses, with a vote likely to come Friday.
I think Bolton probably has something to offer us. Well figure out how were going to learn more, said Alaska GOP Senator Lisa Murkowski, who is viewed as a barometer of whether there will be enough Republican votes to call witnesses.

(5,995 posts)He brought up the "head on a pike" threat to remind them of who they're all talking about.
He's transparent in that he so obviously will continue to escalate his corruption until stopped. Anything he does from this point on is a shared responsibility of the Senate GOP.

(22,183 posts)witnesses have been saying all along, eh? And if any of these senators are lawyers or attorneys, I'd say, like Barr, they should all be stripped of their licenses to practice law. Being of dubious character and repute...in some states, this is an actual thing that they look at, prior to granting a license, such as in Ohio.
