(3,557 posts)It might be a good time to avoid it for a while.
Even if the meat you buy is infected with COVID-19 and cooking it thoroughly might destroy the virus and it is probably perfectly safe to eat, youre still bringing a potentially contaminated product into your home. Get a little sloppy while preparing it, using a wooden cutting board, or whatever and it would be an easy way for it to spread into your home.

(127 posts)Locally sourced meat, even if a little more expensive. I used to get it in the grocery store if something we wanted was on sale, but i would rather pay more than support companies that do that to their employees.

It seems like a good time to become a vegetarian...

(6,449 posts)He could have done so but then it would have resulted in the owners having to spend some of that filthy lucre theyre earning on the backs and bodies of the workers. And his sycophantic Rethuglican governors threatening the workers with starvation if they refuse to go back to one of these life threatening reservoirs of disease. Once more we see the core principles of the Rethuglicans on display people are expendable but profits are sacrosanct. No meat plant or any other business should be permitted to reopen without implementing the OSHA/CDC guidelines to protect workers as they are a menace to their employees and the community in their current disease culturing state.
