I'd like to see if Trump followed basic procedure as outlined in that playbook.

(12,712 posts)Trump keeps claiming falsehoods over and over again to try to make them stick. It's a tactic. It works, so far. The repeated lie as per Nazi Germany, becomes the truth. It also distracts, deflects and, in this case, poisons the well because we need straight, clear, factual information to get through this.
Meanwhile, we are left to exhaustively point out the falsehoods over and over, both as individuals and in a broader sense. It is tiring. That's the strong arm part of the dictator's tactic and he's wearing us down with it.
It's all bullshit and the facts about warnings, preparations, funding cuts, agency cuts are always available for reference.
IMHO, he didn't just botch this, but managed to let it happen. The responsibility of the office makes him fully culpable for the outcome as far as willful negligence goes. He doesn't like that idea. What is the point, really, of having a President who takes no responsibility for his outcomes? He sails in on Obama's recovery, health care, pandemic plans and takes credit for that, right. Then, when something comes about that he is directly responsible for, he wimps out and takes no credit.
The above is what really exposes him, who he is, and what he really wants and it is not about benefiting the people or protecting their safety no matter how many times he or his Ivanka surrogate say it. It's demonstrable. It's a fact.

(10,274 posts)never ends. Jonathan Swift surely must have been thinking about Donald Trump when he wrote:
"Besides, as the vilest writer has his readers, so the greatest liar has his believers; and it often happens, that if a lie be believed only for an hour, it has done its work, and there is no farther occasion for it. Falsehood flies, and the truth comes limping after it; so that when men come to be undeceived, it is too late; the jest is over, and the tale has had its effect
"
I like that quote.
Thanks. Apropos.

(2,509 posts)Where did the 17 tons of stuff he sold to China come from? He didn't buy any supplies before the pandemic began and he had to get them from somewhere.

(32,626 posts)it should be a major news story. The most salacious lies, are easily forgotten, because of the volume of lies and scandals. We need movies of greatest hits clips. Several.

(3,557 posts)I dont. It never happened.
A real leader doesnt blame anyone except themself for their current predicament. They take responsibility for it all, the good and the bad.
Apparently, for republicans, blaming someone else is what a leader is supposed to do.

(16,254 posts)He's so intent on blaming Obama for everything, he doesn't need any reason. I doubt he even knew what the department was set up for. Same with other departments he wiped out or regulations he repealed. He doesn't consider what his actions will do to future situations, he just loves to show his power and his hate for Obama.
All because of a comment at a correspondents' roast? Isn't that what caused all this hate?

(22,176 posts)about it then? So he's saying that the cupboards were empty, how and when did he know about it? What did he do about it?
Obviously after over 3+ years, nothing still has been done, if this lie is to be believed.
