Instead of parking her ass in the chair. She had no intention of helping anyone. She wanted her nails done.

Your employer calls you back to work and you refuse? That's considered a voluntary quit. Now you have no income and cannot apply for unemployment.

So the worker was indeed forced to work, given that her alternative is to been kicked out of her residence or not be able to feed herself and her family, if she has one. Are you actually saying that is a legit choice?

I repeat myself: Bullshit.

Tell that to people with bills to pay. What bullshit. If you want to keep defending this asshole, suit yourself. I'm done wasting my time with her and with you.

Except the musicians on the titanic didn't have much choice as to living or dying, only as to how they wanted to spend their last minutes.

We have a choice and don't need to choose to spread the virus, but hey. Some people gotta have shiny nails, so,....

I can't believe the manicurist isn't wearing gloves. If surgeons and dentists can do their enormously delicate jobs while wearing gloves, why can't the manicurist?

For people forced to work placing their lives in danger.

A Hobson's Choice is a "free" choice scenario where only one thing is offered.

Choose loss

1. You can die or someone you love can die from the transmission of a deadly disease.

Or

2. You or someone you love can die from the effects of homelessness, a lack of nutrition, a lack of any safety nets.

Either way, the real choice is what loss do you want to suffer.

People can dress the choice up by pretending it's about choosing to work and all that means - money to buy the things you need - or choosing not to work and not having money to buy what you need.

But that isn't the choice. That's the lie being sold to blame people for balking at the idea of risking their lives after being forced to do just that by stripping them of safeguards that would give them an actual free choice.

I'm angry. That photo depicts why I'm angry. The sheer insanity of the situation.

That mask won’t do shit. The holes in that mask are the equivalent of the Grand Canyon: that manicurist may unwittingly become the Typhoid Mary of that mall.

Lot's of spaces on the sides of it. No eye protection. No gloves. But I am guessing the woman thinks she is protected.

I noticed a couple of days ago that my fingernails were longer than I prefer. So, I got my fingernail clippers and the diamond file and trimmed them to a more convenient length. I left my cuticles alone, as I always do. I didn't buff my fingernails, either, since I see no benefit from doing so.

Like most men, I have never had a manicure. I can't imagine paying someone to make my fingernails look better. I realize that many people do enjoy having manicured nails, but they are not essential, and are not in any way worth risking your health or the health of a manicurist.

There is something very wrong with that photo, and it typifies the toxic attitudes many Americans hold.
