We are at a point where the question of legality comes in. Is it legal to knowingly mislead the public concerning health dangers during a crisis? Wouldn't a bona fide, global pandemic be a criteria for that?

We have criteria that the FDA uses that does not allow companies to misrepresent the health benefits of their products. Those kinds of claims require empirical evidence based on studies.

We all know that you cannot yell fire in a crowded theater when there is none and call that your right to free speech.

I am a proponent of freedom of the press, so to speak, but the question of how criminal it is to be able to use the airwaves and other media to blatantly misinform and therefore endanger the public stands out now.

How can we have a safe and healthy society if that is allowed? Why would it be different from spurious health claims for products. Also, there is not even a disclaimer required about dispensing opinionated advice without even having credentials on a network? What?

This is very dangerous territory. We need that to be investigated and dealt with or we are just going to run to the exits and stomp all over each other as if there is a real fire, figuratively speaking.
