(44,974 posts)Do they think masks on their chins will do them any good?
since I live here in AZ I watched the circus on Faux. They took their masks down to answer questions. You are right, they should have responded without touching their faces to pull down their masks. I believe they own a restaurant in Tucson.

(58,785 posts)reality is that most LatinX lean conservative -- it's in most of their cultures and needs more time to adjust. And, the Democratic Party is seen by many as already dominated by AA. Racial divisions among minority conservatives are very real, and that repels a lot of them.
Most polls deliberately hide the reality that, for good and bad, some 3/4 of Democrats are white, reflecting the national 76%, including Hispanic whites. And our 3/4 of course INCLUDES our white Hispanic Democrats. But the constant disinformation that the Democratic Party is dominated by, rather than a power base for, AA, helps repel those LatinX who might otherwise join Democrats as their own power base to fight hostile white-power Republican aggression against them.
The Hispanics we knew in California for decades all knew that non-citizen, native American Hispanics were stand-ins for the abuses and denial of citizenship the Republicans really want to aim directly at them. Whether they're white or native citizens, or a mix. But those among them who were strongly conservative identified with the Republicans who despise both Democrats and undocumented immigrants. Those we knew resented immigrants and resented being lumped with them by Republicans, but focused their hostility on Democrats and their longing for acceptance on the conservative party.
What's new to us is seeing the current vulnerability to social media targeting, but not necessarily an inclination for many to go with each other whatever the direction. Bernie Sanders as a way some could oppose the notion they've been provided of Democrats in the primary and others to wish for much more for much less money than the ACA provided, before potentially joining the Republicans and Trump's promise of much more for much less than the ACA? It's been a while, and a lot's been going on since we left California, and since our old friends and acquaintance also grew old and departed one way or another. These are mostly their kids, and their kids.

(10,274 posts)Trump isn't exactly popular among Latinos in Arizona; Sammy's customers won't appreciate the owners sucking up to him.
