Enter your state and see how it is doing re: the virus in real time

For example, Alabama growth rate:

On average, each person in Alabama with COVID is infecting 1.12 other people. Because this number is only slightly above 1.0, it means that COVID is growing, but slowly.

Positive test rate=5.5%
Indicates testing is not widespread

ICU headroom used=
Alabama has 1,553 ICU Beds. Normally, 465 are unoccupied. We estimate there are currently 121 COVID cases in the ICU, or 26% of typically free beds. This suggests there is likely enough capacity to absorb a wave of new COVID infections.[/div

Major airline hubs are high contagion areas, and air travel have dropped off..and lots of people are too scared to mingle..

Not counting people for all kinds of reasons, not testing.

For all its faults, Alabama is almost accidentally doing pretty well overall.

But....going back to work is the push here now, so we shall see what the 2nd wave looks like.

Fla. has already stopped reporting honest figures b/c trump, while other states like Washington acted fast to start mitigation efforts.

There are a lot of rural areas in the South, with poor access to medical treatment.

Sounds like PA’s stay at home order is controlling things (and I do understand why my county is still red - glad Wolf and Levine did not cave under all the vitriol), but the state could use more testing.

Nursing homes remain an issue in PA. And prisons. I think it may be why my township and the one to the south are among the highest in Montgomery County.

Strange that MA cases are still growing, but the Suffolk County (Boston Area) are declining, which is the most densely populated area in the state. I am proud of my fellow neighbors for doing all they can to stop the spread of this virus. I know that everyone in my neighborhood is taking it very seriously.

It seems everyone is flattening the curve as they say, but I have to wonder when this changes as states open up.
