General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsThe most awful thing about Trump is "lack of empathy"..feeling for others. He has none
...It is so obvious. It is about his numbers, his response, how he does, his "team". etc.
.. Nothing about the horror of families loosing loved one... No awful grief.. Feeling for those families and the nation that the we have lost 70,000. Like the grief that a person feels when they lose a loved one..
............ All about him, all the time, every day..................................................
... If you need to convince someone to vote against Trump, maybe that one will do it. This reflects his inner character more then anything. It is all about him.

(14,118 posts)impossible for me to pick the most awful one. Some people I want to get off my lawn. Trump is one of the few people that I want to GET OFF MY PLANET!
*that's my personal diagnosis for him

(38,454 posts)very high up there. And it shows so clearly. He does not care, it is his persona. That is who Donald Trump is, was, will always be........BUT...........................
.........THAT IS NOT WHAT THE UNITED STATES IS/WAS/ AND WILL ALWAYS BE.
Yes many of us show that, and many of us do not show that.
.. Obama, Cuomo, Rachael, etc, etc. show empathy. Trump shows no empathy at all, and that is the truth.

(28,863 posts)I still have gotten past his babies in cages.
I dont now how he stayed president after that. Its boggling.
malaise
(269,237 posts)but it is true that he lacks empathy.

(38,454 posts)..He doesn't care to find out about important ideas. If he cared about a problem, he would read up, consult with experts, here is a key word....listen..& then respond.
..But, Trump doesn't care about anyone but himself. He thinks he is brilliant, and doesn't have to learn, because " he knows it all"..(or words to that affect).
...No matter how one describes it, He is a "sick piece of shit" (my apologies to shit) and a true embarrassment to the world and the U.S.A. (as a leader)
malaise
(269,237 posts)and his daddy had money so he just babbled his way through, ignoring those with knowledge and claiming he knew more even when he hadn't opened a fucking book in a single discipline.
This ignoramus went to the CDC to tell the experts that they were impressed with his knowledge about these matters and he inherited this knowledge because his uncle was an academic at MIT.
That is laughable..

In It to Win It
(8,298 posts)I remember saying that during the caravan saga. How long ago was that, right???
I've always believed that people should go wherever they need to go to improve their lives. I could never step in the way of that as long as they don't harm anyone else. I had all the empathy in the world for those people and he just toyed with these people's lives and shined a spotlight on it as political theater.
Trump has absolutely no empathy or sympathy. He can't even pretend to show it. I believe that's a crucial part of being a leader, showing empathy and sympathy when it's appropriate.
As you mentioned, everything is all about him. Before we even get into our differences in politics, that is the #1 thing I don't like about him. I despise him as a person. He's just a disgusting person.
Anytime anyone asks me why I don't like Trump, it's almost always because his personal attributes.

(38,454 posts)The above statement from that link is incredible.....
special thanks to ...turbinetree for posting that on April 26
I don't know if anything has improved since then, (two weeks ago) but I haven't noticed any empathy..
Have you?
(I am deeply sorry, I had the wrong link for some time, that has been corrected.)

(34,661 posts)And appears that at least one of his Kids travels that same path.
Been waiting for him to ratchet it up to the next level as pressure bears on him.
Next level being Physical violence. Had to deal with one for ten years, and yes there is a next level.
Sounds like he may have touched that level with one of his Spouse's at one time. He will repeat, trust me,been on the other end. Lost some of my hearing as a take away prize.

(36,747 posts)Hang on tight, Wellstone. The ride to January 2021 is going to be a rough one, IMO. Especially from November 3 to January 20 when we vote him out.
We may have to take this one to the streets.

(10,419 posts)"The Sociopath Next Door" by Harvard psychologist Martha Stout. Mr. pig said it made him more capable to understand about horrible people we encounter in every day life than anything he has read.
Not all sociopaths are serial killers. They amount to an estimated 4% of the population who will stab you in the back at work. They are awful neighbors who can't wait to find an excuse to sue somebody.
Anyway, a very enlightening book.
