We have automatic registration at the DMV and online registration and same day registration. My county has ballot drop-off boxes at places like the County Clerk's office and the Public Library. You can also sign up for texts that alert you when your ballot was mailed out and when it was received back at the Clerk's office. All very efficient!

Oregon has been all mail in voting for 20 years. People with disabilities and mobility issues also vote by mail. Americans living and working abroad have been casting their votes by mail as well. And the military has always voted by mail. Is Trump going to not count all those votes as well?

It's a bit obvious that Trump is only worried about the huge chunk of democratic voters in California, with even more voters likely to swell the count because it's easier to vote by mail.

I like him to explain which section of the constitution gives him the power to not count votes in states where he is that clear loser.

There are already at least two Supreme Court decisions that hint that there needs be no popular election at all. The
Constitution (Amendment 23) very specifically says the states appoint the electors, and does not give them any hints how to do it.

It would be fun to see a state try to eliminate the popular vote for President and go back to the legislature appointing the electors. Absolutely no legal reason for them not to.

No excuse or reason required. In the early 2000s California let any voter in the state sign up as a permanent mail voter. Several counties have - including mine (pop. 1.9 million) have already been doing all-mail elections. All this decree does is make the option state-wide instead of county by county.
