Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsHow would Hillary Clinton have handled the pandemic?
First, as a former Secy. of State, she would know what working with China entails. She would know not to take their word on anything. She would have pushed to get our people there on the ground and reporting back. IOW, she would have exhausted all containment efforts.
Second, she would have followed Obama's pandemic response playbook because her state department probably contributed to it.
Third, she would have mobilzed getting PPE equipment to hospitals.
Fourth, she would have fast tracked the testing.
Fifth, she would listen to her public health experts.
And all along the way, Republicans, Fox News, and the right wing would be fighting her and screaming conspiracy theories to the high heavens.

I admit to a secret hope that the Clinton Foundation beats everyone else to a vaccine.

(13,631 posts)she would have I'm sure. She would have still had the pandemic response team and more help at the CDC. There is no way she would have ignored them. But, she may not have gotten any cooperation from Congress at all. Democrats might not have controlled the House.

(35,450 posts)Hillary was denied the White House on complete and total bullshit about her emails. The American people elevated the superficial when choosing their president.
Choosing a president is important decision. Not voting. Giving weight to a dumb issue like her emails. Not being likeable. This all lead to Trump being president and possibly 81K people dying unnecessarily.
People need to be reminded to take voting for president seriously.

(12,712 posts)She would not have been totally obsessed, (OCD) with her reelection from day one and preoccupied with rallies and creating a reality TV show image for her entire term. It does take a lot of time and energy to maintain a facade.
With that in mind, her focus and energy and Administration would have been on this as early as possible, (possibly before as per preparation) and fighting it for us all the way. That could have prevented many illnesses and death and even made the blow to our economy far less intense and damaging.
She may also have advocated for many types of mitigation and solutions to the damage to food distribution issues, food bank shortages, and the economic crisis for citizens rather than just focus on keeping big, lumbering dinosaurs from sinking into the mud by way of their own economic malfeasance.
At least, that's what I would have expected concerning the crisis. We would be far better off right now and we would also have a better sense of optimism and unity as a nation. There would have been some social and psychological benefits from a non-toxic President who is not governed by a need for narcissistic supply, etc. A lot time and energy and effort is wasted on that right now.

(32,017 posts)She would listen to the experts and the appeals of the people in her office and then ask, What can I do?
If the people in her office had a reasonable plan and told her what she could do with the resources at her disposal, she would promise to do it and then actually do it.
Thats her modus opperandi. She listens to the experts first, figures out what she CAN DO, second, and then executes ... faithfully and relentlessly.
She would have been a great President.

(1,568 posts)... and ag businesses and food commodities would have been in play long before there were shortages and people dying at meat packing plants.
TP likely would have still had issues and we would be on the Pukes third or fourth committee hearing about that travesty and moral failing on her part.

(3,475 posts)"Because Crooked Hillary stole the election, her INCOMPETENT management has left almost A HUNDRED Americans infected and MILLIONS of dollars spent to stop A DOZEN local flare-ups! SAD!!"
And Congressional Republicans would be saying that it didn't matter that we had one of the lowest per-capita death rates in the world, and that the 20 deaths were like FIVE Benghazis, and that this was Hillary's Katrina. And Fox News would parrot it.
And Chuck Todd would have entire episodes of Meet The Press where he talked about how Hillary's awful mismanagement was so bad for the country and Democrats, and how Republicans would certainly control both the Executive and Legislative branches after the 2020 election, because the country should never have elected her because emails, and it would be the death of the Democratic Party.

(36,540 posts)The states wouldn't have to worry that the feds will steal their orders of PPE.
She would never have over ridden the oversight part of the relief bailout funds.
I could go on, but the difference between the Con's actions & how HRC would have handled it, will add up to decades more recovery under the Con.
