(17,463 posts)If you are talking about the linked twitter videos, I have to go to twitter to view them.
Recent posts indicate that it is occasionally a problem.

(58,743 posts)from the posts it looks like it might be a Chrome issue.

(86,843 posts)I'm still using WIN7 and have chrome disabled, using firefox.

(58,743 posts)I tried, but not really a techie.

(86,843 posts)Right? I used to have some tech skills and knowledge but this long after being active, I don't even venture to know what's going on anymore. Seriously, I was at one time, seeking a doctoral degree in a computer dominant field but walked when I met with political opposition to my degree program... well, actually by an asshole senator who got me ousted by making sure I couldn't form a committee. So I bailed and moved to another state.
I can figure out some things but I usually will seek help after exhausting my knowledge. I have been doing some maintenance every time I go online with Avast products, which are very helpful, and the disk cleanup tools in the WIN7 profile. Sometimes I have to reboot and run the cleanup tools again but most of time anything weird is handled by those tools.

(146,338 posts)can't play them in the Android Chrome browser. You can, however, click on the tweet and play them on Twitter.
I don't know about IOS devices, though. Chrome in Windows plays them just fine on DU.
It's not a DU problem. It's an issue with your device and browser.

(146,338 posts)Still, if you click on the tweet here on DU, you'll go to Twitter, where the video should play just fine. At least it does in my cell phone's Twitter app.

(115,900 posts)Sometimes they won't load directly from the DU post but I can usually play them by going to Twitter. It looks like the problem might be with DU.
MineralMan
(146,338 posts)Probably a video format that is not supported in DU, but that is supported on Twitter. That could be it.
If something doesn't play, I either skip it or jump to Twitter if I really want to watch it.
When I'm on my phone in the evening looking at DU, I have media sound volume on mute, so I rarely try to watch videos.

(4,570 posts)and have the problem (and have had it for about a week now).
Has Chrome done an update recently? Maybe a Win 10 update is the problem. It seems though the problem is sufficiently widespread that devices and browsers aren't the issue.
MineralMan
(146,338 posts)I just haven't encountered it, I guess, on my desktop, which is a Windows 10 machine. I have a pending update that I will allow to install this evening.
I have to admit that I don't play many Twitter videos on DU, though.
