Trump and his spokesmodel just said

that he had already prepared for a pandemic and they developed their own procedure manuel and even did a exercise on how prepared they were "under Trump's leadership".

This was just breaking on TV as he was going to board AF1, so there's no other info yet.

This is a startling revelation and Trump has never mentioned he had a playbook for (the) virus, let alone that anyone in his administration was using it or was better prepared or following this mysterious manual that just magically appeared out of thin air.

The press secretary had an armload of these supposed manuals, waving them around, but nothing was handed out to the press.

Another lie, and so obvious that such a manual pops up now when Trump is being excoriated for his failed
leadership.

Someone better release this manual!

No advanced warning because the playbook must have called for purging the Chinese virology liaison.
Then, 85,000 dead, markets falling 20%, and 30 million unemployed.
Their playbook was useless!

It could not possibly have been utilized.

The response has been so haphazard that they were obviously winging it.

Even now, I would love to know what this document says. Even in hind sight they couldn't have written a document that described this response coherently.

Hopefully someone will put in a FOIA request for the document and details of its preparation.

We have known since mid march when the real playbook was released. If they had a playbook to replace it they would have mentioned it then. Instead they wait for a month and a half and then wave some empty binders and board the plane.

Bullshit. Even if they release it and it looks valid, I will call it bullshit.

Nothing this maladmin does is truthful, so eff off dump, you lie.

This is all the result of exposing the playbook. Because it can be clearly shown he didn't follow the playbook he now has to pretend that he had his own.

I mean the Trump cultists will of course, and Fox News will do it's best to promote it to the kool aid drinkers.

But do they really think that people are just going to go "Oh, see! I told you he had a plan all along". Is their attention span so short that they forgot we saw baby hands at a press conference in front of a table of reams of blank paper claiming it was his taxes, but you couldn't look at them? That he's been saying all along that he will release his taxes, but they're currently under audit? That they keep saying that they're going to repeal Obamacare because it's terrible and replace it with great healthcare which should be ready either in about two weeks, but they have yet to offer even one proposal?

I understand gaslighting, but c'mon.

Obama manual on pandemic response and then just slapped his name on the new cover.

This is how he branded many of his buildings, he didn't construct them, be just paid the owners for naming rights.

I still want to know where Trump's new plan has been hiding for all these many months and why - since he's touting it as better than what Obama did - no one ever followed the plan?

40th in the world and ineffective ones at that. 3. Take almost 6 weeks to issue general stay at home guidelines. 4. Not accept a pretty good test from the WHO in place of defective ones from private industry and the CDC. 6. Not have adequate supplies of PPE AND not work in coordination with states to acquire it. 7. Step on the toes of states that actually were trying to make a quick and effective response. 8. Not sufficiently support people who lost jobs while giving Trillions to large corporations. 9. Push for premature easing of public health policies designed to minimize harm and death while vaccines or treatments are worked on. 10. Push ineffective and dangerous treatment and basically lie daily about the course of the virus.

That was the playbook?

The playbook counted on having 1.4 million cases and 85,000 deaths in 2 months?

Idiot!

I had forgotten that Trump's spokesmodel also said that Trump ran a full exercise of their plan (just like Obama did) last August.

Todd noted that his staff researched for any evidence that any such manual existed or an exercise was ever conducted, but they couldn't find any public mention or reference to it either. He said that they are going to continue to investigate.

That's good news. The press corps is going to rip Trump to shreds. He's going to have to come up with a plausible story to explain why this document has suddenly surfaced. The press is going to demand to see it, everyone will suspect it's a fraud, but Trump thinks he can foist it off on the public because he's a genius and the rest of us are too stoopid to recognise a hoax.

Just like any other egg sucking weasel, Trump's just about run to ground and I, for one, look forward to the moment the coup de gras is delivered.
