In the Bible, Jesus was crucified on a Friday. He died in the afternoon.

Because of Jewish laws, Jesus had to be interred before sundown on Friday which is the beginning of the Sabbath. On Sunday morning, Mary and the other women found the tomb empty.

So, Jesus was in the tomb from, say, 6:00 pm on Friday until ~6:00 am on Sunday. That's 36 hours or a day and a half.

If you believe that sort of thing.

I know it's hard for some to sympathize, but I grew up with, and still live amongst, fundamentalist Christians. (Depending on one's definition, I may even be one myself.)

I don't want these people to die, and I don't want them to see it as a test of their faith to put themselves and their family members in danger. But that's how it looks like it's shaping up.

In many contexts, this was to blame those with misfortunes for their own problems. Sometimes, it was used to claim those favored by life were given that good fortune by God. Will they still believe that when they or someone they love gets vivid?
