Mitch, I love you, but this is 100% true. Time is running out. Get tough and move quickly, or it will be too late. The Dems are vicious, but got caught. They MUST pay a big price for what they have done to our Country. Dont let them get away with this! @LindseyGrahamSC

Mitch McConnell has spent years pretending as though the Russian collusion hoax never happened. If he thinks he's going to keep the Senate majority and confirm more judges without addressing the hoax and holding the hoaxers accountable, he's lost his mind.

Newest Reality
(12,712 posts)He has implied that for a while.
Like we have seen in past atrocities, he would, (if possible) arrest, imprison, torture and summarily execute those who oppose him, or that he just doesn't like. No problem. Any proceedings would be the GOP on kangaroos. Eventually, that formality would be dispensed with.
There is a dictator in there all the time just waiting to come out of the closet. Another term? Well, you can see where that would go if he continues to scapegoat, accuse, incite, etc.
His personality disorders are not just annoying or self-centered, they combine into a dangerous, devious, plotting tyrant. This is NOT they kind of person you put in the position he is in unless you want to destroy everything and put a dystopian, Orwellian structure in place of it.

(2,013 posts)Our best shots are Kelly in AZ (+9% at last measure), Hickenlooper in CO (last 2 polls had him 17% and 18% ahead!), Cunningham in NC (ranging from up 8-10% to tied in recent polls), and Bullock in MT (only one poll, but he was a pretty popular Governor and was up 7% in that poll).
I've also seen Gideon leading Collins in ME, Maura and Greenfield running dead even with Ernst in IA, and we're at least within shouting distance in both GA races (they're both pretty unlikely, but we consistently trail by 4-6%).
There are long-shots that will depend on turnout like McGrath vs Asshole in KY and Harrison vs Graham in SC that would be BRILLIANT to see flip as well.
All in all, hitting the target of 4 seems very doable with heavy turnout, and as many as 9 in a blue tsunami. Here's hoping for gale-force winds!

(101,391 posts)to throw shit at the wall on the subject of Biden, and Democrats in general, in the hope that it induces some doubt in independents and keeps them from voting for Biden and Democratic senate candidates. He knows the endless BS about emails and Benghazi in 2016 helped him eke out wins in PA etc., along with the Russian bots. He's still got Russian bots on his side, but they need ammo fed to them by complicit Republican congressmen.

(7,404 posts)Justice doesn't run on a clock (running out of time) but a re-election sure does. And it is the perfect definition of a real witch hunt. In an earlier era we called what Trump is proposing McCarthyism.

(36,161 posts)What do you think he's planning?
The only real dangers to him are two. One is the Democratic win on Nov 3.
The other, before that, is the Democratic caucus visiting Trump without masks, saying, "We're here because you've unmasked us!"

(9,090 posts)RW talk radio monopoly a free speech free ride, as if 95% of americans prefer that racism, global warming and covid denial, stupidity, and lies
once every advertiser on every rw station gets asked if they actually support trump etc many will head for the hills. to avoid that the ad industry will start to democratize it. along with imbaugh's imminent croaking many of those stations will change programming.
the GOP will lose the only unique advantage it has. without it mcconnell and many republican senators will lose. even before the elections they might end support of trump if they know those stations won't be there to attack them if they turn on him or excuse their licking of trumps private parts for 3 years

(694 posts)The coup that started with the impeachment acquittal will be finalized in November on election day. All rational people know that cat grabber is a maliciously corrupt, moronic liar. In a normal situation republicans would be sprinting away from trump as he makes his moronic statements, like; ' we wouldn't have so many cases if we didn't do all the tests'. Instead, they are in lock step. because the fix is in.
So vote, get angry, but don't imagine that things are normal and this is like any other election cycle. We are in for 6-8 months of escalating craziness from the white house with no consequences. Buckle up, republicans have taken over.
