I'm really scared that Trump will remain president after the election.

Trump plans to corrupt and confuse the whole election system so a fair count will be impossible.
I'm sure he will actually lose by a landslide but he's going to do every illegal thing his toadies can think up to prevent the honest total from seeing the light of day.

He has an obscenely large campaign war chest that he's been building ever since he was elected.
He has the full propaganda power of Fox News at his disposal.
He's taking over the Post Office to prevent mail-in votes from being fairly counted.
He owns the intelligence and Justice departments so can order illegal activities while law enforcement looks the other way.

There will be complaints and exposés in the media, of course, but this has had very little real effect on outcomes. It's like everyone is shouting down a well.

To fight back, Democrats will be constrained by the rule of law, traditional procedures and reality while Trump is free from all of these.

It won't be a fair fight or fair election and that scares me.

sounds bizarre but he knows that the office is the only thing that is stopping him and his family from going to prison. If he loses their will be a new AG and also a new head of the IRS and the truth will come out. That means that he will do ANYTHING to win including foreign help, unethical actions and he knows that the GOP Senate will support him.

He stole 2016 with the help of Putin and hackers. No one did anything about that. No one has done anything to him about all of the laws he has been breaking in the last four years. No one is doing anything to him about purposely intercepting PPE shipments to states led by Democratic governors. No one has done anything to him about sending ventilators to Putin, while American doctors go to hardware stores to buy garden hoses and electronic timers to make makeshift ventilators, while Americans DIE. No one has done anything to him for inciting violence against sitting Democratic governors. No one has done anything to stop him from doing anything and everything he wants. He has been having a damn field day and no one is stopping him.

Who do you think will remove him? No other part of our government has the will or the interest in stopping him. That is why he has done all that he has done without any consequences. There is nothing stopping him from doing whatever he wants, including refusing to leave the White House and the presidency.

You say he will be removed. By who?

(this loony tune is not beyond that) then it would definitely be a constitutional crisis. There are several different options. Being that he is a egomaniac I seriously doubt that he would want the history books to reflect that he is a lunatic?? I would think the first people to perp_walk him out of the WH would be the US Marshals, if his deplorables came to his rescue then maybe the DC National Guard would get involved (OMG - I would love to see that!). The military is sworn to uphold the constitution and follow orders issued by the officers elected or appointed to enforce the constitution.

In my wildest dreams I would just love to see him, Melania (in high heels), Ivanka, Don Jr., Jared, and maybe even Bill Barr escorted down Pennsylvania Ave being plummeted by eggs, beer cans, and dog shit. My mind is rampant with ideas.

I know it's a total fantasy.....but it's my fantasy!

the British.

I am terrified (I have been since about 6 months in Rump's regime) that the only thing it may come down to post election is what side will the US Military choose. I am NOT joking at all. Dog help the world whether he wins or loses the election (the same for the House and Senate.) Trump and the Rethugs might try and selectively declare the States they lose null and void due to 'election fraud' and also go down to individual House districts they lose and declare the same thing. Never since the Civil War has the nation being at greater peril, and TBH, it might be even more so now. If the US Military chooses Trump and the Rethugs, it is fucked. I do not think they would even allow many of the Blue States to leave without kinetic action.

I do not think that most people understand how utterly FRAGILE our form of government is once one side makes the choice to no longer follow the Constitutional Rule of Law. The overarching consensus that is the national glue is being rent asunder right before the world's eye's. The nation has built up the greatest military force in the history of the world, and the majority, the VAST majority of the vox populi has been more than happy to see it, post WWII, unleashed upon a myriad number of other nation states, and 90% approve at least some of the time, depending on who has been the target of deadly, overwhelming force. So few stopped to think what a monster has been erected if it is turned on its own people via an extra-constitutional power grab.

This doesn't even take into account the 600,000,000 firearms out there in the fruited plain, the VAST bulk in hands that more than likely pulled the lever for Trump, or approved of his taking control as dictator. He has millions of willing goons to become his own Sturmabteilung and help 'keep the order' via gunpoint, at grassroots, village by village level if they and he do make the ultimate power grab play. The memes have been imprinted into the RW hive mind for decades, long before Trump came along.

7. People keep saying, "He can't" to this and do that, because elections are really held by states, but
Sat May 16, 2020, 03:43 PM
May 2020

the reality is that he has been doing whatever he wants since taking over the country.

I cannot believe people actually think laws mean he cannot do anything he wants. No law has stopped him yet. He gets away with everything.

If those laws are not enforced, he can do whatever he wants, and he has so far.

I mean, the thing they finally impeached him on was going after Biden's son, not stealing the election using Putin and hackers in 2016. Why wasn't he impeached for that?

Think about that one for a minute. He should have been impeached on that from the get go, but was not.

If no one will enforce the laws we have in America, what good does it do to even have them?

He has been getting by with anything and everything, including stealing the 2016 election and sending ventilators and PPE to Putin while American doctors and nurses make do with homemade PPE. He has been intercepting shipments to states controlled by Democratic governors while people die. He has been hoarding up PPE that American taxpayers paid for and saying it belongs to "us" meaning it does not belong to the rest of America. We fucking paid for it. Yes, hell, it does.

Doctors have been going to hardware stores to buy garden hoses and electronic times to make makeshift ventilators.

All of these things, other than the 2016 election, Trump has done just in the last couple of months, as people lay dying. He has been doing whatever he wants and no one is holding him accountable at all for anything.

Why wouldn't he go ahead and steal the election or refuse to leave? No one would stop him. He could do it, easily, with this corrupt, lazy ass Congress. They haven't gone after him for anything so far except fucking with the Bidens. All of the stuff he has done to states, Democratic governors, even inciting violence against them and calling open season on minorities over and over again, none of it has even registered as a blip on the radar of Congress so far. They aren't doing anything to stop him.

So, why wouldn't he do whatever he wants then and steal the 2020 election too? No one would stop him. No one would do anything. All the big, bad keyboard warriors who say that cannot happen or all hell would break loose are full of shit. He'll do as he damn well pleases and no one will do a damn thing.

Congress, who are supposed to be investigating wrongdoing and our courts, who are now stacked with his appointees and right wing majorities, who could rule things he does as unconstitutional, are doing nothing to stop him and the rest of the Republicans from all of the law breaking and wrongdoing they are doing.

How can anyone, at this point, NOT think he will not try to stay in power forever? He can. Nothing is stopping him and nothing will.

Once you notice how much he has done that should have been at least spoken out against, you cannot unsee it. It lets you know, really quick, he could just stay in power as long as he wants and no one would do anything about it.

At some point we're going to have to drop the hands-across-the-aisle koombaya mentality and come to grips that we are in a no holds barred KNIFE FIGHT, not a genteel electoral contest between 2 fine gentlemen.

IF we win, we need a SCORCHED EARTH POLICY OF BENEVOLENCE...burn the hives of hatred to the ground forever, and FIRST PRIORITY will be VOTING RIGHTS, everything else, EVERYTHING, stems from people being able to vote. Everything else can wait until there are mandatory HARSH prison sentences for ANYONE who denies a qualified citizen the ability to vote. NO PARDONS< NO PROBATION, just a few years in a cell.

He has already been getting away with loads of lawbreaking and loads of wrongdoing and no one is stopping him. No one is stopping him as of right now. Why all of a sudden would the stop him then? The people with the power to stop him aren't doing anything to stop him. Period. End of story. He could just refuse to leave and no one would do anything about it.

They absolutely DESPISE the other candidate. More and more people hate Trump every day and see him not only as a threat to our democracy and way of life, but as a sick, deranged, evil person who should have never been given any power to begin with.

His hardcore base will always stick with him, but many people who stayed on the sidelines last time see what a destructive con-man he is and will come out to vote just to end the nightmare. That's my prediction. There is a very strong "Anybody but Trump" contingent out there, and they will vote just to get rid of him, regardless of how they feel about Joe Biden.

During one of the 2016 debates, Trump was asked if he would accept the results of the election. "If they show I won I will," was his snarky reply.

I bet he's got an army of lawyers working on how to invalidate the vote if he loses. We know the Repugs are masters at voter suppression and propaganda. In 2000, when the expectation was that Dubya ("I'd like to have a beer with him," ) would win the popular vote and Gore (Mr. Stiff) the electoral one, a plan was in place for the RW media and acolytes to raise such a ruckus to force Gore to concede. In the end, that's not the way it turned out, and Gore lost by one vote -- the SCOTUS named him president by a 5-4 vote.

This year we've been warned by the intelligence agencies that Russia used 2016 as a dry run for this election. It's going to take a massive voter turn out and overwhelming Biden victory to pry Trump's orange little hands from the WH doorway.
